Emory expressions

Just a smattering of some of Emory's expressions; what a funny little guy.

A Very Big Day!

Today was a very big day for us. One of Andrea's friends from work told her about a place where we can get Emory's hair cut. Andrea has been doing a good job thus far, but she can only do so much with his hair. We went to the kids barbershop yesterday, and there was a long wait so we made an appointment for today. The place was very cool-has trains, video games, TVs; all available to the kids while they get their hair cut. As you can see from below, Emory really needed a hair cut! Emory choose to sit in the fire truck chair and watch a Thomas the Train movie while getting his hair cut. He was amazing. We have to fight with him just to wash his hair, and today he got up into the chair and was very good...for awhile.
He started to get a little sad and needed some hugs and hand holding form mommy and daddy, but he made it through the experience less a lot of hair.

...and this is only part of it!

...and he came out with a very cute haircut, even if he is a little hard to reogonize. We never knew that he had my ears (the way they stick out anyway) because they have been hidden behind hair for so long.

What a cute little man we have! Good job Emory!

Starting to hate my name

3:30 Am It is dark and warm in my room. I slowly and carefully turn over in bed. Slowly because I am very large! Carefully because....well small noises travel.

3:31 AM "Mama! Mama! MAMA! Water! Covers! Book!"

3:32 Am I sneak a peak at Gabe. Ok if he can sleep through this so can I. I settle back into a pillow.

3:35 AM "ANDREA ANDREA ANDREA MAMA ANDREA"

Yep that's it.

Welcome Samuel Thomas Moore!

CONGRATULATIONS to my cousin Tiffany and her husband Tommy. They have a happy, health, large baby boy born on 2/16/09. He was "a whoppin 10lbs. 4 ozs and 21 3/4 in. long". We went and visited them in the Hospital today and they are all doing well. Emory was very interested in the "new new baby" until he found a cup with water and his attention went elsewhere. Again, congratulations and welcome to Tiffany, Tommy and little Sammy!

Baby wake-up call

We had a slight scare last thursday when I started having icky contractions for hours. Thankfully it was due to a bladder infection and not actual labor! Our C-section date is March 8th, but we are all aware that that means nothing and really the baby could come anytime. We spent the weekend working on three weeks of "Emergency" sub plans and 10 weeks of "Actual" sub plans. I hate going to school by myself (too creepy) and so Gabe and Emory came in with me and watched a movie. It was also a good reminder to do things like pack, remember how to get to the hospital, and so on and so on. If Lilly comes when Emory came she will be here on Sunday! Personally that is too soon for me. I wonder if in the next three weeks we can get Emory potty trained, sleeping through the night, clean the house, pack the freezer, install car seats, buy more junk, ect. You would think the previous 36 weeks would have provided some time to do this!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from the Pless'! While Emory does not yet get the meaning of Valentine's Day (apparent from the video), we still had a very nice morning (also apparent from the other video) and now Andrea and Emory are resting in bed watching Emory's new DVD, Madagascar 2.

THANK YOU!

Thank you very much to Aimee, Shanti, Shilah, Serena and "the pretty good dog Cosmo" for watching Emory last night!

Andrea and I went to Chili's for dinner and it was very nice to spend some time with just Andrea. It was a very nice dinner and we appreciate the Conifer Pless' for watching Emory for us!

Backyard play

Yesterday Emory and I played for awhile in the back yard while Andrea did a great job cleaning the house; playing baseball, throwing sticks and rocks and a fund new game climbing trees! Emory got up into our peach tree (only a foot off the ground) but then got stuck while climbing down and had to be rescued. He has on a new sweater with a "big digger" on it which adds to his cuteness.
