There's animals in trouble...

There's not really animals in trouble...Andrea took Emory to Barnes & Noble, and there was a book about animals being rescued, and it turned into a "pretty cool fun new game" as Emory likes to call it. This went on for a few minutes before I got the camera, and for sometime after as well.

Pretty pictures

Andrea got an indoor rose bush, and it doing great! It has some beautiful flowers! Roses in winter...I was walking up our stairs, and the sun was casting a shadow of the flowers above our fireplace and it looked very cool!

Emory & Daddy

Andrea had some work to do so I took Emory on some errands. We went to the post office, bank and then the Butterfly Pavilion. As we walked into the
Butterfly Pavilion, Emory took off like a shot down the hallway, and I was left with the clerk trying to check me in as fast as possible. I caught up with my little speed demon and we made it into the butterfly house. Within 8 seconds, Emory had found a puddle and jumped into it, fell down, and started splashing! There is a picture above depicting how I felt chasing him, like there was 4 little Emory's! It was great fun, and we went through the car wash on the way home. As we got home, Emory decided he would throw himself away.

Throwing & singing

Just a typical evening at the Pless home; missing clothes, throwing balls, jumping, singing and shouting!

Naked Boy!

This evening, out of the blue, Emory decided he wanted to be naked boy. He came up to me and said "Emory wants to be naked" while tugging at his pants. Thankfully he is unable to remove his clothes on his own, so I helped him take off his pants and shirt. Well, his shirt king of got stuck on his huge head, and he ran around so cute.

Emory's first sledding experience

This past weekend we visit Shanti, Aimee, Shilah and Serena. They had a few inches of snow, and Emory had his first experience on a sled. Here we see Emory & Shilah in action! He loved the sledding, but after the first walk up the hill he had me carry him. He is also seen looking a little upset; that is after he fell off the sled and rolled a little ways down the hill. All in all, I would say that it was a huge success and hope to go sledding again real soon.

Celestial Clouds

It was a beautiful day today. As I left work yesterday it was to the thick smoke from a wild fire just north of my work, and on my in this morning while it was still dark I could see a ring of flames on the outskirts of the burn, but it is now under control and a beautiful day with some beautiful clouds.

Fun new games!

Emory invented 2 new games today. The first is very innocent and mild and involves throwing a small feather into the air and trying to catch it. The second is similar, however it involves Emory climbing a piece of furniture and throwing himself into the air! As he climbs the chair to "do it again" he says..."pretty cool new game". Very cute and fun little boy game.

Happy New Year!

Hello And HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have been basking in the glory of the blogs of Dr. Hausfrau and the Temporary Librarian this morning. It is wonderful to get to feel a part of far away celebrations.

We had a very quiet celebration. Gabe and Emory and I went to our favorite vegetarian restaurant, the Water Course where a lot of Seitan was consumed. Then we came home and watched a movie. I stayed up very late (10 pm) and Gabe probably stayed up even later. Emory went to bed on time and got up on time too! ( 5 am)

I read somewhere that resolutions are easier to keep if you have publicized them.... so here are the family New Year's Resolutions.

1. Emory is going to have fewer tantrums (ha ha ha ha- that's never going to happen)
2. Andrea is going to have a baby. (I like to choose things that are inevitable)
3. Gabe is going to eat more brown rice and vegetables. (also inevitable!)

Here's hoping that your Resolutions are successful and the the New Year brings positive light to your lives.
