Favorite Pictures

These are my favorite pictures from our camping trip to Kenosha Pass last night.

More Aspens

Aspen's

Some more pictures of the Aspen Trees.

Camping

Shanti and I took the bus camping last night. I left from work and headed up to our favorite camping spot, Kenosha Pass. It is about 40 past Shanti & Aimee's house on 285 and it is

up at about 10,000 feet. It was a little chilly, but not bad. Setting up the camp ground was great...about 4 minutes after we got there the bus was ready and we had a fire going; speed camping. It was a great time, and the Aspens are changing color so it was beautiful. Above are pictures of our camp ground, and we took a walk in the morning along the Colorado Trail into an amazing aspen grove that was straight out of a fairy tale...quiet, with tall white trees going straight up and when the sun hit the tops with the yellow leaves they burst into color. Beautiful place.

Grandpa Charlie

We went and visited Grandpa Charlie this morning. We brought Emory's soccer ball so that he would have something to play with, and one of the 'puppies', Molly, was very into playing with Emory and the soccer ball. It was very cute seeing them run around together.

Helmet, helmet

I was watching some college football yesterday, and Emory was playing ball in the basement. He brought his little football over and looked at the screen and said "helmet, helmet". So, I went and got him my football helmet and he loved it!

Zonked!

After a long morning at the zoo Emory fell asleep in the car. We transferred him to his toddler bed and he is currently sleeping in it for the first time ever! My two babies sleeping.

Morning at the zoo

We just got back from the zoo where we spent the morning visiting the animals and Grandpa Charlie. This was probably our best visit yet. No meltdowns (by Emory, Andrea or myself) and it was the first time that we did not bring a stroller or wagon, just walking. It took a little longer to get from place to place, but also seemed more interactive for Emory. Instead of taking pictures of just the animals like I normally do, I tried to get some of us at the zoo instead of just the zoo.

A night out!

Last night Andrea and I went to see a move; Burn after reading. I thought it was a great movie and it was very enjoyable to get to see it with my wife. We had one of Andrea's students watch Emroy when we went out. Emory was already in bed by the time the sitter got here and it worked out fine. While in transport, we were reminiscing about baby sitting while growing up, and we realized that wages haven't increased like everything else has; the going rate is still about $3 an hour.

On the way home I had a realization...I was getting ready to pay for a baby sitter...the 1st time in my life that I am paying for a sitter. After remembering doing it myself, it made me feel old to be the person paying. Just an observation we had on the way home from our great night on the town!

BASEBALL!

With all the ball's that Emory has, we made the obvious choice and decided to get him another one. We got him a little tee-ball stand; foam bat and ball. He spent a good 3 hours playing on Sunday afternoon and evening. He would not let us play, and he didn't even stop to eat dinner. He loves it!

Yummy Dinner

Last night we went up to Shanti and Aimee's house for a very excellent dinner. They got 2 new kitties, who are very cute. Emory and Shilah sat at the kids table, and they did very well. Emory had a lot of fun playing with the basketball hoop downstairs, even when everybody else was upstairs. He eventually came up for dinner, and after we had a 'diapers only' party for the kids. We had lots of fun, and Emory fell asleep on the way home with....his soccer ball.

A symphony of balls

A symphony of balls

Emory's obsession with balls continues. Today alone we played with the football, basketball, golf, tennis (a form of it anyway) and soccer. We also played with the big bouncy ball and even 2 balls at one time...and this was all before his nap at 11:00 am!

Emory's new obsession

Emory has recently become obsessed with playing with balls. He likes soccer balls, baseballs, footballs, tennis balls, golf balls...you get the point. His Nana said that he spent about an hour and a half throwing and chasing a tennis ball today at the park, and he spends a good amount of time playing "basket ball in hoop" while at home.
