Fun Weekend!

I had a great visit with my friends this past weekend. Brandon and Mike came out for an all too brief visit this past weekend. It was the Great American Beer Fest weekend and, as usually, it was a great success. We missed last year and vowed never to miss another one (2 1/2 hours into a beer drinking frenzy). That was Saturday. Friday, we went up to Boulder and played in the mountains a little before coming home to pick up Lily and go to Golden City Brewery for an early afternoon pint. While I did not bring my camera to the beer fest, the picture below gives an idea of what it is like:

My friend and co-worker Andrea got married this past weekend. It was a very nice ceramony and we had a lot of fun. Congratulations Andrea and Jaycen

Daddy Time

I took the kids to the park before dinner for an hour to spend some time with them and let Andrea take a nice batch. Lily loves the swing and the grass, and Emory is a silly boy!

Emory has been very helpful in the garden the past few weeks. He is excellent at watering and very helpful picking and eating my strawberries and raspberries...

He even water's himself quite often...

and he loves to play in the backyard and behind him is 'Emory's Garden' where he has some beautiful morning glories blooming...

Kids say the funniest things

Long story short, Andrea's dad had a driver crash into his fence and the cops were involved...

Here is how a conversation just went between Emory and I:

Emory: He was a bad driver

Me: What did he do?

Emory: He crashed into the fence and the policeman took him to jail

Andrea: What is jail?

Emory: It is a very big building

Me: what do you do in jail

Emory: It is like a long, long, long, long time out!!!!

Playing

Emory and Lily LOVE to play cars together. She sits and grabs cars to be loaded into her mouth, and Emory likes to 'Crash' into cars. We spend a good 2 plus hours a day playing with cars and it is a lot of fun to watch.

Daddy Emory

Emory has been talking about being a daddy when he grows up. "Emory will have to take very good care of the baby" he keeps saying. Here he is rocking his 'baby' to sleep and being very cute!

Helping Hand

If you all remember, my friend Brandon built us an amazing deck last year. If you did not hear, the week after it was finished a dog 'went through' our gate, and there had been a hole in it ever since. Using my birthday present from Andrea I decided it was time to fix the gate. Brandon made it look much easier than it actually was, but thankfully I had help he didn't have. It is nice to have a working gate again!

Silly Daddy

This past weekend I was talking to my mom on the computer downstairs and watching Emory. I should have know something was amiss when I did not see him for about 5 minutes. Once I realized I was slacking on my duties, I ended the call and went to find Emory. I met him on the stairs, him going down and me coming up. He says, "Daddy, Emory made a mess with his cereal."

Emory had pulled his stool up to the counter, pulled the bag out of the box and emptied it into his bowl. He did a great job getting his breakfast!
