Sewage disaster

Our drains backed up this week and sewage leaked into the carpet. After a franitc plumber visit, a disgusting clean-up, and some frightening internet research we called the carpet restoration experts and the insurance company. BTW I don't think they should be called restoration experts. I think they should be called Rip out half of your carpet People.

Hopefully, a new carpet will be moving in. Sadly, the pool table is going to a new home tonight. Gabe and I realized that we didn't want the added expense of having to pay movers to move it out and back in for the new carpet installation.

These giant fans will be in place for 5 days running constantly! Meanwhile we are wet vacing the rest of the house to make it safe for the little crawler.

Baby party- Special brownies

I hosted a baby party to welcome Serena Daryn to the World. It's sad that Serena was too young to enjoy the fun. Everybody played with babies and ate. Afterwards, people went outside to drink beer and harvest the peaches. We ended up with bags and bags and bags of peaches!

The brownies in the picture are special, I got the recipie from Aimee.

Take a brownie mix, (DO NOT add the oil or eggs) instead puree a can of black beans and add that to the brownies with a 1/4 cup of water. Mix and cook.

Everybody knows how I feel about legumes and I'm telling you these are the best brownies I;ve ever had!

Emory goes on a walk with his family. I was at school missing the fun!

Sunday Morning

Mommy spent the morning at the gym, and Emory and I went on a walk to the park. The path follows a small stream that is beautiful to walk next to, and Emory loves to swing. We had a great morning together, and when mommy got back Emory was happy to see her!

Emory Loves Tomatoes

Emory ate a whole tomato today. When my back was turned he grabbed it and took a huge bite! He was so pleased I let him have the rest.

My magical mystical room

I have been getting my new room ready. First I painted it. Then added a huge DNA. There is a tree of life and an analogy corner. My students will sit in pods of six and be able to see my Ultra high teach projector, DVD, SMartboard, Speaker system. I just don't see why people ever leave rooms blank!

Busy Boy

Sometimes Emory is so busy during the day that he forgets to take naps. Today he got some new toys from the local Goodwill store and spent the whole afternoon crawling to and fro and standing and banging. I "encouraged" a nap but it was a no go. Here he is at the end of the day after falling asleep at dinner! Gabe took Emory out of the high chair to finish the nap on his lab. We are hoping to go out tonight. Hmmmm....I wonder if he's going to wake up??

Little Bear

Mom got back from Canada this weekend and brought the cutest little outfit for the

Buddy. As you can see from the picture he is getting really good at standing! Can walking be far behind? (Yes please!)

Grandpa Charlie gets a new bike

My dad bought a Motorguzzi motorcycle this weekend. This means he has three motorcycles! I question the need for three. But it is a pretty bike.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather with a cold today, so I'm taking the oppurtunity to load some new videos. One shows Emory's abilities at pulling up and banging and in the other you can hear some of the noises he likes to make at dinner time.
