Emory & Lily's first skiing adventure

We took Emory & Lily skiing at Loveland today - we got a late start, but got up there about 10:30, and stayed for about 3 hours. Lily spent the first few hours crying and not wanting to try it, but she got up and had a few "runs" at the end. Emory seems like a natural, and, while he can't turn or stop yet, he can crouch and go straight without falling...much. The kids were cold, cried a fair amount, but said they had a fun time, and I think we'll put them in lessons the next time we go up there! I no longer feel like a 'bad' Colorado parent, as my kids have now been skiing!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Happy Birthday Lily!

Lily is 4 years old!!! We celebrated her birthday yesterday at our house. Lily chose a 'Pirate' themed party, and even though we got about 8 inches of snow, people still came and helped us celebrate Lily's party! Happy Birthday sweetie.

Lily and Emory Reading!

Emory has been growing and growing in reading this year!  He is loving all books but is especially into science.

Last night, Lily read her first book.  I can't tell you how my heart felt to hear her sounding out the words.
MMMMM...aaaaa....ttttt....   MAT!  Sssss....aaaa...tttt!  SAT!

It was like she realized that a whole new world was open to her.
